Circadian rhythm sleep disorder is linked with insomnia, shifting schedules, and jet lag as these three factors affects a person’s biological clock. Other factors that affect the circadian rhythm are winter blues, depression, seasonal affective disorder, and bipolar disorder.
Another condition that leads to insomnia is the delayed sleep phase disorder. People with such condition usually sleep between 2 to 6am and wake up at noon. While it can only be a result of sleeping patterns, individuals with delayed sleep phase disorder find it hard to sleep at night, even if they wanted to. Teenagers are the people most afflicted with the condition and are able to outgrow it over time. A sleep doctor or visiting a local sleep clinic can also help if you want to return to normal sleeping schedules.
